Our items are secondhand, sourced, donated, or curated for resale. Because of this, our store policies are designed to keep pricing fair and expectations clear.

All Sales Are Final

Due to the nature of our resale operation, all sales are final. We do not offer refunds, exchanges, or store credits. Please inspect all items carefully before buying.

As-Is Items

Sold As-Is

All items are sold in their current condition. Items may show signs of wear, age, imperfections, or missing parts. Damaged or broken items are priced accordingly.

Fair Pricing

Prices Are Firm

Our prices are clearly marked and firm. Haggling or price changes at the register are not permitted. Sale pricing only applies during posted promotion periods.

Discounts, Promotions & Rewards

Promotions and rewards are a great way to save, but they must follow the terms posted at the time of purchase.

Rewards are redeemed as discount codes. Only one discount code, including promotional codes, can be used per order unless otherwise stated.

No Holds

No Holds or Layaways

Merchandise is sold on a first-come, first-served basis. We cannot place items on hold or offer layaway services.

Rewards and points are subject to current Shop Smart Thrift Rewards settings and availability. Points have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for cash.

Electronics are sold as-is. We encourage testing in-store when possible. Shop Smart Thrift does not guarantee performance, battery life, accessories, or long-term functionality.

Furniture & Large Items

Furniture and large items must be picked up within 48 hours of purchase unless otherwise arranged. Items left beyond the agreed pick-up window may be resold without refund.

Jewelry

Jewelry Is Final Sale

Jewelry is final sale. Please confirm your selection before purchase, including style, fit, condition, and any visible wear.

Loading

Loading & Delivery

Shop Smart Thrift staff cannot assist with loading, securing, or tying down furniture. Customers must bring appropriate help, transportation, and supplies.

Online Orders & Local Pick-Up

Online purchases follow the same final sale and as-is policy, with additional shipping and pick-up guidelines.

Our online inventory consists of secondhand, sourced, or donated items that may show signs of use or age. Please review item descriptions and photos carefully before purchasing.

Shipping Policy

Orders are typically processed and shipped within 2–3 business days. You will receive tracking information once your order has shipped, when tracking is available.

Pick-Up

Local Pick-Up

Local pick-up is available at Shop Smart Thrift, 242 Dalhousie St., Ottawa, ON K1N 7E2. Please wait for confirmation before arriving and bring your order confirmation.

Exceptions

Undisclosed Damage Review

All sales are final. However, if an online order arrives with significant undisclosed damage that was not shown or described in the listing, please contact us within 2–3 days of receiving the item.

Clear photos of the item, packaging, and issue may be required. Claims are reviewed case by case and do not guarantee a refund, exchange, or credit.

We want Shop Smart Thrift to be welcoming, safe, and respectful for customers, staff, and community members.

Store Conduct Policy

Please treat others with courtesy and respect while in our store. Rude, aggressive, abusive, discriminatory, or threatening behaviour toward staff, volunteers, or other customers is not permitted.

Staff may refuse service to anyone violating this policy. Disruptive individuals may be asked to leave immediately, and Shop Smart Thrift reserves the right to ban individuals for serious or repeated misconduct.
